Calibrating your LCD screen for correct colour

 Here are the best settings for a LCD television or computer monitor:

 

  • 48   -   BrightnessCalibrate your CRT, Plasma, LCD, or LED screen or monitor, for correct colour - color, to look best on your system.   • 65   -   Contrast
  • 50   -   Color 
  • 80   -   Sharpness
  • 50   -   Tint - if available on your TV or monitor
  • Standard   -   Color Temperature

 

If you have a Smart TV, LCD, LED screen or monitor that has an internet connection, you may calibrate it properly here:

For most computer and PC use, the following:

 

It has been said that some of our software's graphical-user-interfaces are too light in colour.

 

But I have to respectfully disagree with them. To get the right image colours on your LCD monitor/screen, you first need to calibrate it to your eyes liking.

And if I may suggest the following settings for best viewing and user experience of your LCD monitor, if you have ATI Catalyst Control Center installed on your computer.

 

Best settings for viewing:

 

Before calibration:

Screen Card Settings: { Radeon 9550 AGP }

Gamma: 0,5  >>  0.8  <<  3.5        =  0.8 points on the gamma scale

Brightness: -100  >>  -40  <<  100        =  -40 points on the brightness scale

Contrast: 0  >>  120  <<  200        =  120 points on the contrast scale

 

Monitor Settings: { LG Flatron W2243S }

Gamma: 0

Brightness: 75

Contrast: 80

 

After I calibrated my screen card: { Radeon 9550 AGP }

 

Gamma: 0,5 >> 1.0 << 3.5        - Set your screen to 1.0 points on the gamma scale

Brightness: -100 >> 0 << 100        - Set your screen to 0 points on the brightness scale

Contrast: 0 >> 100 << 200       - Set your screen to 100 points on the contrast scale

 

Monitor Settings:  { LG Flatron W2243S }

Gamma: -50

Brightness: 70

Contrast: 70


Monitor Settings:  { Samsung LED S27SE390 } - These are the setting to get a proper white screen!

Gamma: Mode 3

Brightness: 70

Contrast: 75

Sharpness: 51

Red: 20 Green: 26 Blue: 50

 

The above settings are what I currently use. It may be different for everybody else, but I found these to give me the best colour and viewing pleasure on my computer.
